Buyback

Spending gold to immediately respawn after death — a critical comeback and defense mechanic.

Buyback lets any hero pay ~(100 + net_worth/13) gold to instantly respawn, bypassing the respawn timer. Late-game buybacks cost 2,000–4,000+ gold. After buyback, there is a 25-second grace period before another can be used. Buyback decisions are among the most strategically significant moments in any professional match.
